The 目的 School recognizes the complex emotional and behavioral needs of teenagers as they navigate what the American Academy of Pediatrics has referred to as a 国家 emergency in youth mental health.
Counseling and wellness offerings provide students with licensed mental health professionals to support students with trauma informed counseling and care on a confidential basis.
Recognizing the need for transformative care models, the 目的 School recently hired Dr. Kendrea Hart as the inaugural Director of Counseling and Wellness at The 目的 School, she is joined by Sepideah Mohsenian-Rahman, 垃圾, 反潜战, who supports students with clinical counseling while simultaneously supporting the community as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. They work with a close team which includes Stephanie Thomas, Director of Instructional Support, skilled therapists and wellness educators providing culturally-responsive support to 目的 students from routine yoga classes to diverse wellness mg冰球突破豪华版试玩网站 and workshops from clinicians at UC Santa Barbara’s The Healing Space facilitators from the local 黑色Crcl.
Mission Statement
目的 trains young people in the art of living for their own greatest good and for the greatest good of their fellow citizens in a diverse and changing world. To that end, the School augments its highly challenging academic program with profound lessons learned from the care of a horse, regular chores around the School, teamwork on playing fields, outstanding instruction in the arts, the give and take of everyday life with schoolmates and teachers, and adventures shared in the wilderness. The aim is to inspire and encourage hard work, 完整性, self-reliance, a lifelong love of learning and truth, self-knowledge, and a deep concern for the world in which we live.
